The singer took to the stage at the Country Thunder USA Festival in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, at the weekend but proved unpopular with audiences.
Spectator Adam Matos gave a damning verdict on her performance, which included Willie Nelson covers, telling the Kenosha News: "I just don't hear the country in her. I don't hear the twang. She's not good enough to be here."
Critics were also unmoved by her change in direction, with one remarking: "Many audience members found her attempt to cross over into country irritating and [felt] that her vocals lacked a southern sound."
