The star said he will attend the November ceremony, held by music magazine Classic Rock, to pick up the prize in person.
"I couldn't be happier to know that Classic Rock haven't written me off!" Osbourne joked of the news.
"Seriously, it's a great honour and I'm looking forward to going to my first Classic Rock Awards in November. Can't wait to see you there."
Award nominees this year include Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard and Foo Fighters.
