Helders said that the Sheffield group often performed karaoke versions of the R&B singer's Born To Do It album.
"I don't know why I love it, but I just can't help but sing along - I know most of the words," he told NME.
"I was into UK garage when it first came out and this was a crossover from that to R&B."
He added: "The rest of the band share my enjoyment of it - we do a bit of karaoke."
Born To Do It, which was released in 2000, featured the singles 'Fill Me In', '7 Days' and 'Walking Away'.
