The film's director Zack Snyder revealed that the emo group's frontman Gerard Way approached him about collaborating on the graphic novel adaptation.
Snyder said: "Gerard is a huge fan of Watchmen. He's a super-great guy and an awesome musician, so we're trying to work with them right now to put together possibly a song for the end titles.
"[They’ll perform] a cover of 'Desolation Row', or something like that."
Snyder disclosed that he had heard Way's early demo recordings for the Dylan cover, describing them as "pretty freaking cool".
Watchmen, which revolves around a group of superheroes who stumble upon a conspiracy, is also likely to feature songs from Jimi Hendrix and Simon & Garfunkel.
