The singer performed a number of tracks from her latest album E=MC2 at the Hollywood & Highland shopping centre on Hollywood Boulevard. Rapper Young Jeezy also made an appearance, joining Carey for their track 'Side Effects'.
Carey's appearance formed part of a series of free summer concerts designed to promote a Samsung mobile phone. Gavin Rossdale, LeAnn Rimes, Nelly, Nas, the Smashing Pumpkins and Good Charlotte are expected to perform similar gigs around the US over the coming weeks.
Mariah's concert attracted thousands of supporters to the shopping mall, according to reports. E=MC2 has already sold over 1.1 million copies in the US.
