Prince bans dentist's 'Purple Rain' cover

Bain secured himself a record deal with SonyBMG after he sent the label his operatic cover of Prince's hit.
However, the US singer has refused to let his track feature on Bain's debut album, which will include interpretations of The Smiths's 'How Soon Is Now?', 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol and Abba's 'The Winner Takes It All'.
Bain told NME through a spokesperson: "Without 'Purple Rain', I wouldn't be where I am today. I struggled until I took a chance, mixed my operatic style with pop in 'Purple Rain', and realised my dreams."
Bain is scheduled to appear at this year's Bestival on the Isle of Wight, which takes place between September 5 and 7. His album is expected to follow later in the month.
