According to the New York Post, the veteran rocker and the E Street Band will provide the half time entertainment at the sports final next February.
E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt has apparently booked out Tampa's Hard Rock Café for a Super Bowl party.
Previous acts to play the Superbowl include Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Tom Petty.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy played down the rumours, commenting: "We don't talk about our talent discussions."
