ABC singer Martin Fry has confessed that he is not a fan of corporate gigs.

The musician said he struggles to perform in front of an audience of non-fans.

He told Teletext: "One of the early ones, I thought 'Oh, they're here to see me'. I struck a James Bond silhouette behind the curtain, and then I heard everyone talking through the intro music.

"I burst on to the stage, about to start singing 'Poison Arrow', and it was horrible, one bloke clapping."

ABC are currently touring the US with fellow '80s bands A Flock Of Seagulls, Dead Or Alive, Belinda Carlisle, Naked Eyes and The Human League.

The group released latest album Traffic in April.
