Earlier this year, the rockers claimed they would spend their performance fee on "big UFOs that land on the crowd's heads".
However, singer Matt Bellamy claimed the idea was pulled by the event's health and safety officers.
"We're trying to get a UFO to come in," he told the Daily Star. "Health and Safety as usual are ruining it all. I'm not sure V are quite prepared for us.
"We've redesigned the whole stage and we're bringing in loads of props that won't be on stage but around the venue."
Bellamy also claimed the band wouldn't be playing any new tracks during their headline slot.
"We've written a lot of new songs but we’ve bottled out of playing them live because, from past experience, we've ended up hating some of our favourites by the time we recorded them," he said.
Other acts playing V include Amy Winehouse, Kings of Leon, The Verve and Stereophonics.
