The US rapper headlined the event in June following criticism from Oasis star Noel Gallagher, who claimed that organisers should recruit indie acts only.
Speaking to MTV, Jay-Z revealed: "Of course I'd come back. It was incredible. I'm glad it went that way, because the world was watching. It's not about genres. It's about good music and bad music."
Asked why he covered Oasis track 'Wonderwall' at the festival, he replied: "I have a sense of humour like a Brit, so I thought people would appreciate that. Noel Gallagher was one of the biggest detractors, so I figured that was a cool way to start the show."
Gallagher has since tried to end his feud with Jay-Z, insisting that his comments were "misrepresented".
