Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton revealed earlier this month that the Oasis frontman thinks Cilmi's hit single 'Sweet About Me' is the best track of 2008.
Speaking about the reports, the Australian popstar told the Daily Star: "I love Oasis but it was crazy to hear that.
"My dad used to sing 'Live Forever' to me as a kid, so it's a real honour."
