According to The Sun, the indie band impressed EMI boss Guy Hands after performing a gig in his office.
"Guy believes the new-look EMI could be a good fit for Hamfatter," said a source.
The group, which secured £75,000 investment from Peter Jones on the BBC Two entrepreneur programme, are also apparently going to star in their own TV show. Its working title is Hamfatter's Music Den.
Hamfatter's last single 'The Girl I Love' reached number 71.
