This year's event, which attempts to create "new moments in music", will take place in Liverpool and London.
It is the first time the festival has moved outside of the capital.
Alex Turner's Last Shadow Puppets, Tony Christie, The Maybes and Wave Machines will play Liverpool venues including the Philharmonic Hall, Barfly and Royal Daffodil Ferry.
Mike Skinner, Nitin Sawhney, XX Teens and Wild Beasts will perform at London's Roundhouse, KOKO, Dingwalls, Barfly and Electric Ballroom.
The BBC Electric Proms take place from October 22 to 26. Tickets for the shows go on sale in September.
Coverage of the event will air on BBC TV and radio.
