McCabe was finally given the chance to get to know Ronson at Glastonbury in June. Though Mark had recorded a cover of the band's track 'Valerie' with Amy Winehouse, they had previously had little contact with each other.
"Apparently, I'd come across him once before - but I was drunk so I don't really remember it," Dave told the Daily Star. "The thing is, I think Ronson sometimes says things to make them sound more exciting. He told someone that the first time he tried to speak to me I walked away. That's not true."
Next month The Zutons will release 'What's Your Problem', the second single from their You Can Do Anything album.
McCabe added: "It's one of our favourite tracks on the album but I don't think you'll see Ronson covering it - I think 'Valerie' was a one-off."
