Duffy: 'I really hate novelty songs'

Welsh singer Duffy has said her pet musical hate is novelty records.

The soul musician singled out offerings from animated characters Crazy Frog and Bob The Builder for criticism.

"Those novelty songs really p*** me off," she told Metro. "I know they're for kids and I should be more forgiving but I can't tolerate all that breezing through the airwaves."

Duffy also spoke out about rumours surrounding her meeting with John Lydon at the Mojo Awards. Tabloid reports claimed that she had cried after Lydon told her to "f**k off" at the event.

"He was intoxicated and I was overly friendly - it's as simple as that," she said. "I didn't go home crying with my lunchbox and my award, like a bullied kid at school.

"I just walked past him and got stung by his strange temper. I'm aware you have to be careful but my guard was down."
