Festival-goers were angry when the singer was forced to end her set after 35 minutes following the delay.
She told the crowd at the Isle of Wight event: "Bestival, I have been told I've got to wrap it up after the next song."
Winehouse, who was previously reported to have ordered 48 bottles of whiskey for the event, then cut short a rendition of hit 'Valerie' and instructed her band to play 'Rehab' instead.
This year's Bestival was marred by wind, torrential rain and muddy conditions, with acts including Sam Sparro and Black Kids forced to cancel sets.
Winehouse may face legal action after pulling out of a recent French music festival just hours before she was due on stage.
