The band's drummer Harry Judd suggested to The Sun that the group collaborate on a track for charity.
"We'd love to duet with her," he said. "We could cover Belinda Carlisle's 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' for Children In Need."
Lead singer Tom Fletcher said that he had developed a crush on the popstar after seeing her as a judge on The X Factor: "Every time she's on X Factor it's like, 'Woah, she is the most perfect looking woman in the world'. It’s ridiculous."
Bass player Dougie Poynter feared that nerves might cause him to "throw up in front of" Cole if they ever met.
