McFly hail success of newspaper deal
Published Saturday, Sep 13 2008, 18:35 BST | By Nick Levine and Neil Wilkes
McFly have insisted they are pleased with the results of their recent newspaper distribution deal.
Copies of the group's Radio: ACTIVE album came free with the Mail on Sunday on July 20 - two months before it was due to become available in the shops.
Speaking to DS at today's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, drummer Harry Judd called the deal a "success", saying: "2.4 million people got [the album] in one day, which is phenomenal considering the amount we normally sell on albums.
"An extra 300,000 people bought the 'paper that day so we were really happy and they were happy."
