Spears has named the album, her follow-up to last year's Blackout LP, Circus.
It will feature contributions from Swedish songwriter Max Martin and US producer Nate 'Danja' Hills, both of whom have worked with Spears previously.
The first single to be taken from the album is called 'Womanizer', it was also announced.
The release of the album is rumoured to have been brought forward following Spears's success at this month's MTV Video Music Awards, where she picked up three gongs.
