Named Catwalk Breakdown, the LP includes 16 diverse tracks ranging from The New York Dolls to Tchaikovsky.
"My clothes always tell a story," Westwood told Vogue. "It may refer to the past, but it's always projected into this heroic future. And I choose music accordingly.
"These are some of the pieces that I've relied on over all these years, my classics. They've never failed me."
To celebrate the launch of the album, released through Mercury, Selfridges on Oxford Street has devoted its Wonder Room to the British designer.
