Metallica's James Hetfield told fans at the O2 Arena in London last night to stop recording the gig on their mobile phones.

Hetfield addressed the crowd early in the show and said: "Put the f***ing cameras away, put the phones away.”

Festivalwise reports that he said people should not worry about talking to their mother or bother uploading "some s***ty Metallica video on YouTube".

The comments came a day after it was revealed that Metallica had cancelled an interview with a Swedish journalist after the writer admitted illegally downloading their new album Death Magnetic.
