Elbow, Burial receive Mercury sales boost
Published Wednesday, Sep 17 2008, 09:35 BST | By Simon Reynolds

Since last week's ceremony, the album Untrue by dance act Burial has registered a 1004% increase in sales, while Elbow's The Seldom Seen Kid, which walked away with the prize, has jumped 54 places to number seven in the UK album charts.
Gennaro Castaldo, spokesman for HMV, said of Elbow's win: "A lot of music fans will be aware of the band and their music, but may not have bought one of their albums before.
"The band look set to be one of the biggest ever beneficiaries of winning a Nationwide Mercury Prize when measured in commercial terms."
