The album Red was released in June, with frontman Rivers Cuomo describing it as "meaty, crunchy and melodic like a good Weezer album should be".
The group is again considering a self-titled record, which would be known by the colour of its cover like their previous three releases.
Drummer Pat Wilson told Billboard: "If I had my way, we would just use colours from now on. Then we wouldn't have to think about titles."
All four band members plan to write and sing, which Wilson said makes the process a lot quicker.
"Now that we've got more writers, we don't have to wait for Rivers to have a bunch of songs he's happy with. We used to take forever to make a record, then tour on it forever and be burnt out and not do anything for two years. This is a lot better," he explained.
The album, to be produced by Jacknife Lee, will be the last on their DGC label contract.
