Speaking to the Daily Star, Flowers credited producer Stuart Price with creating the "landscapes and galaxy" of their new sound. He also revealed that 'Human', the first single from their third studio album Day And Age, was recorded in just two hours.
"We'd provide the meat and potatoes and Stuart would add the landscapes and galaxy that surrounds it," he said. "We had dinner with Stuart in London. Afterwards we went to his house. He has a studio, and in two hours we recorded 'Human'.
"We just knew it sounded so good. We did it and we just couldn't tamper with it at all, 'cos it just sounded perfect. It's like Johnny Cash meets the Pet Shop Boys."
Flowers continued: "We treated Stuart like the fifth member. He's not afraid to say 'That sucks' or 'Let's try something else'. That kept everything rolling."
