Oasis postpone gigs due to Noel's injuries

Oasis have been forced to cancel a string of shows after a stage attack on Noel Gallagher left him with three broken ribs.

The frontman was knocked on to a monitor while performing in Canada earlier this month. He originally thought he had escaped with only a fractured rib and ligament damage.

However, a spokesperson for the band said on their website that Gallagher had now been told that he was more seriously injured than previously thought.

"A CT scan has now revealed that Noel suffered three broken and dislodged ribs in the attack and he has been advised by his doctor that he will not be able to perform for at least another week," he wrote.

"Oasis are being forced to postpone three shows as a result of the injuries Noel sustained when he was attacked on stage in Toronto."

The band has pulled plans to play at The Eden Project in Cornwall on September 27, the Gloria Theatre in Cologne on September 29, and the Bataclan in Paris on September 30.
