The comedian appeared alongside Justin Lee Collins to hand a gong to Kylie Minogue in 2007, but will return to front the ceremony this year.
"I'm gonna make sure it's the most rock 'n' roll event in the music calendar. Because you don't get more rock 'n' roll than me. As Gloria Estefan said 'the rhythm is gonna get ya'," Carr remarked.
The Q Awards will take place at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on October 6.
