The hip-hop star, who was last week detained at London City Airport, told the Daily Star that he is a big fan of Winehouse's work.
"I would love to work with [Amy]... I think she is a talented genius of an artist. She won't pick up the damn phone but that's OK. I ain't mad at her," he said.
Rhymes initially revealed his hopes of teaming up with Winehouse in July, describing her music as "incredible".
He said: "I know what we'd do together would be something special."
