The group, whose hits include 'Take A Look Around', 'Rollin'' and 'My Way', split in 2006 after the release of their album The Unquestionable Truth.
Durst confirmed rumours of a reunion on the band's MySpace page, writing: "Yes, it has been a while. But a while worth the wait. It is getting very close to time to drop the Bizkit on the universe.
"I say this with the absolute best intentions and motivation. We, Limp Bizkit, are excited about the future for us and for you. Let's stir some s*** up my friends."
Guitarist Wes Borland, who left the band for three years in 2001, has been replaced by Terry Balsamo of Evanescence.
