According to the Daily Star, White is playing down rumours that he has been asked to fill in for the frontman.
"I do not believe you can have a band called Led Zeppelin, singing Zeppelin songs, without Plant," White allegedly told a source.
Plant is believed to be the only member of Zeppelin not interested in a 2009 world tour.
White and Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy have been mooted as replacements.
