Merseyside train honours John Peel
Published Monday, Oct 20 2008, 21:22 BST | By Alex Fletcher

The 'John Peel train' will depart Liverpool's South Parkway at 3pm on Thursday, October 23.
"We are just really delighted that John is being honoured with this train," Peel's wife Shiela Ravenscroft told the BBC. "He would have loved it!"
The idea for the train was suggested because Peel once claimed his second favourite song of all time was Amsterdam's 'Does This Train Stop On Merseyside'. His favourite was The Undertones' 'Teenage Kicks'.
Amsterdam's Ian Prose will sing the song at the train's launch.
Peel died of a heart attack at the age of 65 in 2004 while on holiday in Peru.
