The Babyshambles star has managed to convince the reclusive Mavers to collaborate with him for a track on the upcoming record, which is said to sound "more electronic" than Doherty's previous work.
"Pete has really pushed the boat out on this record. Parts of it sound like Gorillaz," a source told The Sun. "He's been experimenting wildly with loads of unconventional techniques."
Liverpudlian band The La's are best known for their song 'There She Goes', which was first released in 1988. The group split in 1995 but reformed briefly in 2005 for a series of festival appearances and low-key gigs.
