Tony Christie: 'I abused my body'
Published Saturday, Nov 1 2008, 07:14 GMT | By Alex Fletcher

The 65-year-old claimed that he never took care of his voice and is lucky that it survived his wilder days.
"I'm fortunate that I don't have to look after [my voice]," he told DS. "I don't go to bed early and certainly never used to.
"I did all the usual things when I was on tour as a youngster. We all abused our bodies, didn't get enough sleep and drank too much. When you're young you can get away with it, but not so much these days."
Christie is currently promoting his Made In Sheffield album, on which he covers tracks by artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Jarvis Cocker and The Human League.
