The electropop duo, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, will mark the honour with a performance at the event, which takes place at London's Earls Court on February 18.
Ged Doherty, chairman of the Brits committee, said: "Neil and Chris have produced a fantastic body of work with songs that truly were the soundtrack to a whole generation's lives."
Previous recipients of the Outstanding Contribution award include Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Eurythmics.
Pet Shop Boys have sold 50 million records since making their chart debut in 1985, scoring number ones with 'West End Girls', 'It's A Sin', 'Always On My Mind' and 'Heart'.
The duo revealed earlier this year that they are working on a new album with Girls Aloud producers Xenomania.
