A website claiming rapper Lil Wayne was shot dead has been exposed as a hoax.
The fake page purported to be a BBC report and claimed the musician was shot and killed in a gang feud in New Orleans.
US reports have now quashed the rumours, with Perez Hilton insisting: "Lil Wayne is not dead. Repeat: not dead."
The Hot Boys singer, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, recently took home the Hip-Hop gong at the 2008 MOBO Awards.
