Britney performs with Madonna

Britney Spears made a surprise live appearance on stage with Madonna last night at the Los Angeles leg of the 'Sticky and Sweet' tour.

Spears took to the stage with Madonna to perform a revamped version of classic 'Human Nature', from the singer's sixth album Bedtime Story.

Dressed casually in a white shirt and black trousers, Spears was lowered beneath the stage after performing the duet.

Spears celebrated an awards double last night after collecting the gong for Act of 2008 and the Album of the Year for Blackout at MTV's EMAs.
