Although her success paved the way for artists such as Duffy and Katy Perry, Nash insisted that the competition between them is not fierce.
"It felt really nice and refreshing to be able to withstand people going: 'Is there room for all of these girls?' We are all doing our own thing and it's all different," she told the Daily Star.
"I think it's the ultimate wet dream - us having a girl fight, try and get everyone to bitch against each other. I've never really done that."
Nash added that she is trying to figure out where to take her music after last year's debut album Made Of Bricks.
"I've been practising practical pieces so my piano gets good, rather than crap, by the time I get back. I'm writing as well, so I feel good and really excited but I have no idea who I am going to do it with or when I am going to be recording," she said.
