Mel B has removed two songs from her forthcoming album because they make reference to Eddie Murphy.

The former Spice Girl had an affair with Murphy in 2006 which resulted in the birth of daughter Angel. However, the Nutty Professor star did not acknowledge that the child was his until it was proved by a paternity test.

Mel has now ditched the songs 'Reflections In A Broken Mirror' and 'Second Hand Lover', saying she does not want to flatter Murphy.

"I was keen to keep them in and then I thought: 'Why am I giving this jerk reference?' I've moved on!" she is quoted as saying.

The singer recently renewed her wedding vows with husband Stephen Belafonte.
