Members of The Doors are to return to one of Jim Morrison's favourite haunts to mark what would have been his 65th birthday.

Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger will be broadcast live on radio from the LA bar where the frontman socialised in the 1960s with legends such as Janis Joplin, says NME.

A memorial plaque is to be unveiled at the December 8 event to mark the spot where Morrison apparently urinated on the bar, leading to his ban from the Hollywood pub.

Morrison died in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27. Kate Moss was apparently told off by police earlier this year for dancing on his grave at the city's Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
