The US rapper co-produced the musician's second album Straight No Chaser, due for release this summer.
West told NME: "Mr Hudson has the potential to annihilate me, and I will do everything to help him do that.
"He's not going to make some of the mistakes that I've made, spazzing out and p**sing people off. I think he's going to end up being a really cool Sinatra-type character."
Hudson said: "My first reaction was just to smile and say: 'Yeah that's typical Kanye, exaggerating.' But maybe I'll prove him to be right."
Mr Hudson released debut album A Tale of Two Cities as Mr Hudson & The Library in 2007.
He and West will both play this year's Wireless festival on July 4.
