Turner sings on despite severe fever

Tina Turner vowed to perform for a sell-out audience in New York on Monday night, despite having been admitted to hospital the day before.

The legendary singer was said to be suffering from severe fever and was given oxygen when she was taken into medical care, reports the New York Post.

However, Turner refused to cancel the Madison Square Garden concert and went on to complete the two-and-a-half hour show.

The 69-year-old also met with Anne Hathaway, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who attended the event as VIP guests.

The date was one of 35 across the US before Turner takes her tour to Europe in the New Year.
