McFly to headline 'Forestry' gigs

McFly have been confirmed to play three shows next June as part of the Forestry Commission's annual live music series.

The band will perform at 'woodland' locations across the country as part of the Commission's commitment to making forests relevant to people in new ways.

"We loved playing to a sold-out crowd at Thetford forest last summer so we are delighted to include three more forest gigs in our summer plans for '09," band member Danny Jones said in a statement.

The tour will see the group play three dates in June 2009:

  • June 19 - Westonbirt Arbotetum, Nr Tetbury, Glos
  • June 20- Sherwood Pines Forest Park, Nr Edwinstowe, Notts
  • June 26 - Dalby Forest, Nr Pickering, North Yorkshire

Tickets cost £26.50 and go on sale on December 12.
