The British actor played harmonica during the tracks 'Green Eyes' and 'Death Will Never Conquer'.
Announcing Pegg's cameo, frontman Chris Martin told the crowd: "In homage to Robbie Williams rejoining Take That, we're going to form our own supergroup. Ladies and gentlemen it's Simon Pegg!"
Pegg is the godfather to Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple.
Martin also alluded to his band's current legal dispute with guitarist Joe Satriani, who alleges the band plagiarised his track 'If I Could Fly' for their single 'Viva La Vida'.
During a crowd singalong, he joked: "Given that we've only got two hit singles and one of them is about to be taken away by some guitarist, give it all you can."
