Reports recently surfaced claiming that the '80s indie group would reform for the Coachella music festival.
When asked by 6 Music about the reunion, Marr, who has previously dismissed the speculation said: "Right... ok... I haven't really given it much thought."
However, the guitarist revealed that he oversaw the remastering of old Smiths tracks on latest compilation album The Sound Of The Smiths.
"In the past the people at the record label were a little negligent, but luckily for the band the people there now seem to care a little more about it and they invited me to do it - which is the way it should happen," he explained.
