Bob Martin, who won a Tony Award for The Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway, will pen the treatment after being hired by Las Vegas billionaire Steve Wynn.
"It's a musical that celebrates the life of The Bee Gees. It's going to be the story of these three brothers who have played together since they were nine years old," he said.
However, Martin acknowledged the difficulty of cramming a 40-year musical career into a Las Vegas show, saying: "It's a question of what's the [approach] and how do you tell that story without having a series of fragmented moments.
"It's challenging to tell a story like that, especially in a Vegas context, where shows tend to be shorter."
