The band's new LP, which was released on December 1, has already sold 990,000 copies and is on course to pass the million mark by the end of the day.
The record has sold faster than any other album in this century and is second only to Oasis's Be Here Now as being the fastest seller of all time.
"It has been an incredible run for Take That over the past few weeks, which should continue right through to Christmas," Mark Talbot of the Official Chart Company said.
"The fab foursome have demonstrated once again just how much they are cherished by the great British public."
Take That are expected to have the second biggest seller of 2008, behind Duffy's Rockferry, which has shifted 1.5 million copies to date.
The band's 2006 album Beautiful World sold one million copies in just 27 days.
