Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus has sparked rumours that the band are planning a 24-month world tour.

In an interview with an American newspaper, Fortus apparently claimed that the rock act will promote their new album Chinese Democracy for "at least two years".

The album, which was released in November, took 15 years to make and was rumoured to have cost £6.5 million to produce.

Fortus has been a touring member of the band since 2002.

Joking about where the tour may visit, Fortus said that the group may return to St Louis where they famously incited a riot during a show in 1991.

"There has been talk of us doing a Love tour, a tour of all the cities where there have been riots, and doing free shows," he said. "That might happen."
