Prince plans three albums for 2009
Prince has revealed that he is planning to release three new albums in 2009.

The musician said that he is currently working on a trio of follow-up LPs to 2007's Planet Earth.

Four new tracks, which included cover 'Crimson And Clover' and blues jam 'Colonized Mind', were premiered on LA radio at Christmas.

All three albums will be distributed without the aid of a record label. Prince told the LA Times that he is in final negotiations with a US retailer to sell the albums, which will also be available online.

Journalist Ann Powers, who was given a preview of the material at Prince's home, said the second album MPLSOUND recalls the electronic sound of his track 'When Doves Cry'. It also includes a duet with A Tribe Called Quest star Q-Tip.

Prince said that his third disc will feature the vocals of Bria Valente and claimed he was inspired to make it because he was "sick of waiting for Sade to make a new album".
