The US group have taken to the studio to digitally remaster the LP 20 years after it secured a place in the Billboard Top 15 in 1989.
The album's original artwork is expected to be restored in an eco-friendly, eight-panel digipak that will feature a panoramic view of New York City.
The record will also include a foldout poster and a free download with a track-by-track commentary from the band.
Beastie Boys topped the UK album charts with their fifth album Hello Nasty in 1998.
