"The former Babyshambles singer revealed that Coxon played guitar on eleven of the album's twelve tracks."
"I don't know how Graham ended up on the album!" he told NME. "I suppose it was jobs for the boys.
"Seeing as I'm lucid and being quite honest, I'll just say Graham's an amazing fella. I was forced to push myself as a musician."
Doherty recorded the album in a month after ditching two years' worth of recordings with producer Jake Fior.
He added that he is unconvinced that the LP will receive commercial support, saying: "I'll be pleased to hear if people like it. But I don't see it as a commercial album.
"I see it as an introverted, self-contained snapshot of a time capturing four weeks of my life."
The as-yet-untitled album has been scheduled for release on March 9.
