Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly helped to secure Girls Aloud as the support band for Coldplay's summer shows.
The actress was on hand as husband Chris Martin phoned up each of the band members individually to ask if they would perform Coldplay's warm-up at Wembley in September.
"The girls were buzzing to get a personal call from Chris," a source told The Sun.
Paltrow proceeded to sing a few lines from the group's 2002 debut number one 'Sound Of The Underground'.
"Chris roped in his missus to give Cheryl an X Factor-style sing-song. Gwyn belted out the girls' hit single down the phone with Chris joining in.
"They never thought he would be such a big fan. After hanging up from Chris, Nicola called Cheryl to tell her the good news, but Cheryl had come off the phone from him minutes before and was still in shock."
Girls Aloud released 'The Loving Kind' on January 12.
